This photo was taken by my sweet husband a couple of weekends ago. My little booties are from www.walmart.com and my jeans and cardigan are from www.oldnavy.com. My lacy tank is from a little boutique in Granbury, Texas.
I haven’t blogged about it but Charlie, my husband, was in a cycling accident on NYE. He broke 8 bones and dealt with a collapsed lung. I was actually out of town when it took place and a girlfriend of mine is the one that called me to tell me what happened. My husband just happened to be within a block of her house so he was able to reach her via phone and let her know he needed help.
So, let me back up. The day of his accident, I was on my way with my sister in law, Karen, for a fun day of photos and girlfriend time. When I received the call, I quickly turned around and got to the hospital as soon as I could get there. I was about an hour and a half away. When, I finally arrived and walked into the ER, where he had been for a couple of hours, his first question to me was, “Did you get to take any pictures?” My heart!! Here he was laying flat on his back, all busted up inside, and we still didn’t know the extent of all of his injuries. But, his first thought was my dream. My dream of being a life and style influencer. A dream I never thought I’d be able to pull off. So, on a big day with big plans in my mind, I was redirected and plans had to change. My husband needed me, I needed to be with him and yet, he was putting me first. This man blesses me so much.
Now, let’s fast forward a few weeks later, post his accident. Apparently, my husband had been thinking about his accident and how my big plans for pictures on NYE never happened. So, he announces on a Saturday morning that he wants to take pictures for me. Mind you, the temps were in the upper 20’s and there was a howling wind. But, he remembered my big day had been cancelled and he wanted to make it up to me. So, off we went, first to our youngest grandson’s birthday party and then to take a few “clicks.”
While this may not be one of the best photos, it is one of my favorites because it reminds me, every time I look at it, that my husband is my biggest fan, loves me more than life itself and he wants me to be successful in whatever I dream of doing. He’s most certainly a blessing, in more ways than I can count, and I’m blessed every single day to call him my husband and my best friend.
I was freezing that day but my heart was warm. We didn’t get many pictures in that day but even if this had been the only one, it would have been enough. Enough to know I’m loved well and better photos can be taken later.
Speaking of being loved well, on this earth I can truly say I’m blessed beyond anything I deserve to be loved by my husband, son, daughter, in-law children and our grandchildren. I have several close friends who are more like family and they love me well. But, I have a heavenly Father that loves me beyond anything I know on this earth. Do you know Him? His name is Jesus and He loves you too~John 3:16.
I realize this may be an unusual post for someone focusing on fashion and lifestyle but without Him in my life for now through eternity, I have nothing and it all belongs to Him. I’m still learning to let go, learning to have a lighter grip on things I cannot control and I’m learning there is a reason for every little thing that comes my way.
I’m still learning…
Blessings to you!
Wendy

Hey Wendy! What a precious story! And what a gift it is when your spouse loves you well and supports your dreams❤️! Thank you for sharing the gospel. I totally agree that as much as I’d love to control everything, He is the one in control. I’m learning to trust Him because He’s been so faithful to me! Cindyh. From @ Lululoves7 ❤️??
Thank you, Cindy!
