This dress is just precious but when I received it and tried it on, I had to ask the question, “Am I too old for this?” While I love the style of the dress and it fits like a glove, I decided I might not wear this out in public and be comfortable with the look. I love it! But, maybe it’s too form fitting? Maybe it’s too short? Maybe I just worry too much!
So, I grabbed one of my favorite vests from Old Navy and I decided this is more for me. You know, it hides things! I also think I’d add tights next time I wear it. You know, cause they hide things, friends.
Aging is a funny thing, isn’t it? One day we grow up and wonder what all the fuss was about. When I was much younger I wanted to look like everyone else, I didn’t want to stand out or be different but the same. I didn’t try to style anything in a different way but just wanted that “cookie cutter” style. Then, one day you wake up and realize you have your own personal style and while we might wear what “she” is wearing, it’s okay to change it up. Like, for example, wearing a bodycon dress but adding a vest or jacket to the mix to make it look a little less revealing, if you will.
My goal, as I share my life and style with you, is to show you that it’s okay to dress the same but in a different way. Aging has a way of showing us how. Listen to yourself and pay attention to what brings you comfort as you style your thing!
If you love this dress as much as I do, you can find it at Nordstroms-it’s the Women’s Ruched Long Sleeve Dress by Leith. And, currently, it’s 40% off making it less than $40.
Hope your Christmas shopping is well underway or even done and now you can relax and enjoy this special time of year.
Blessings,
