It was such a wonderful weekend…

This picture was taken over the weekend by my sister in law, who has become, through the many years, a dear, dear friend. We’ve seen one another through some pretty dark and scary times. But, we’ve also celebrated one another through the good times. Isn’t that what friends are for?

Karen is a school teacher but is not currently teaching and not sure she will return to the classroom.  But, during her years as a teacher, teaching children with learning differences, she taught photography. I was impressed with her skills but not only that, her enthusiasm and encouragement as she was shooting pics were such a blessing to me. She would remind me to breathe, she’d make me laugh and she put me at ease. I have a hard time relaxing during pics. Needless to say, a model I am not!

This outfit I’m wearing was one I literally threw in the car and thought, “ehhh, I probably won’t even wear it but what the heck!” Turns out, I love this whole ensemble. Wearing white all year long is a thing with me, I love it. But, the colors in this particular photo are some of my favorite combos and I didn’t even know I’d like it! Who knew, right?

Thanks to the many that are encouraging me to hang in there, put in the time and effort and to carry on doing what I love to do, dress up, make it my own and share it with others. Oh, and when I say, “dress up” I don’t mean that literally! I’m a casual girl from my head to my toes. So, don’t get too excited! Although, I’m contemplating doing a whole holiday “dress up” sort of photo shoot in the near future. Maybe…
